Latin Tyre Expo 2026: Chinese OTR Manufacturer Unveils Full-Category Technical Solutions to Capture Latin America’s Upgrade Demand

On Day 2 of Latin Tyre & Auto Parts Expo 2026 in Panama City, our team at Booth 3019 received 62 groups of professional buyers from 12 regional countries. Our full OTR portfolio of agricultural radial, construction, industrial and forestry tires triggered in-depth technical discussions. On-site observations show three key market shifts: accelerating radial penetration, growing focus on total cost of ownership, and rising demand for localized after-sales services. We will follow up on all leads and advance localized market deployment across Latin America.

Panama City, August 13, 2026 – Industry Special Report
On August 13 local time, the Latin Tyre & Auto Parts Expo 2026 entered its second exhibition day. Greeted by the morning sunrise over the Gulf of Panama, the Chinese exhibition team arrived at the Panama City Convention Center 60 minutes before opening, completing product status re-inspection, business material sorting and reception route optimization. As the core annual tire trade platform in Latin America, the expo saw a 22% increase in professional visitor attendance on Day 2 compared with Day 1, with the construction and specialty tire section drawing particularly strong foot traffic. The momentum built on Day 1 continued to build, and the booth reached its peak visitor volume on Day 2. Throughout the day, the team received 62 groups of professional clients from 12 countries including Brazil, Chile, Peru, Colombia, Mexico, Argentina and Paraguay. Regional brand distributors accounted for 54%, end users from mining, agriculture, forestry and ports accounted for 28%, and construction machinery and industrial equipment OEM customers accounted for 18% — a visitor structure highly consistent with the overall demand stratification of the Latin American OTR market.

Category Highlights: Technical Specifications Take Center Stage in Discussions

In-depth negotiations on Day 2 show that Latin American buyers have shifted their decision-making criteria from pure price to technical adaptability and total lifecycle cost, with targeted focus across all four categories: Latin Tyre Expo 2026: Chinese OTR Manufacturer Unveils Full-Category Technical Solutions to Capture Latin America’s Upgrade Demand Latin Tyre Expo 2026: Chinese OTR Manufacturer Unveils Full-Category Technical Solutions to Capture Latin America’s Upgrade Demand
  • Agricultural Radial Tires: Leading agricultural machinery channel partners from Mato Grosso and Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil, focused on IF/VF technical specifications of high-horsepower tractor sizes such as 520/85R42, with particular attention to footprint at low pressure, soil compaction control and self-cleaning performance in paddy conditions. Multiple buyers from sugarcane growing regions noted a clear replacement gap for high-wear agricultural radial tires, as traditional bias tires locally fall short on service life.
  • Construction Tires: Mining end-users from Chile and Peru concentrated enquiries on 23.5R25 and 26.5R25 L-5 deep-tread mining tires, verifying details of tread wear-resistant compound, steel cord ply count and expected service life under standard working conditions. Equipment operation managers from copper mines stated frankly that hourly downtime costs far exceed tire procurement costs, making reliable quality more attractive than low prices.
  • Industrial Tires: Logistics operators from Panama’s Colón Free Trade Zone and Mexico’s Manzanillo Port held technical discussions on load rating, tear resistance and heat dissipation performance of heavy-duty solid forklift tires and port trailer tires. Some nearshore manufacturing customers have already placed requests for small-batch sampling to replace their existing European and American brand supply chains.
  • Forestry Tires: Forestry equipment service providers from Brazil and Chile exchanged in-depth views on sidewall reinforcement structure, puncture-resistant design and muddy terrain traction performance of skidder and feller buncher tires. This niche segment currently sees high premiums from international brands, leaving clear market entry room for Chinese manufacturers with mature technical solutions. On-Site Insights: Three Evolution Signals in Latin America’s OTR Market

Two days of frontline business engagement clearly reveal structural shifts in the Latin American OTR market: First, radial penetration continues to sink downstream. Beyond the over 60% radialization rate for mainstream construction tire sizes, radial replacement demand is also accelerating in agricultural and forestry segments. Second, TCO (Total Cost of Ownership) concept is gaining prevalence. Both end users and leading distributors increasingly evaluate product value by hourly operating cost, with significantly higher acceptance of mid-to-high-end quality products. Third, service demand moves earlier in the decision cycle. Over 40% of visitors enquired about localized services such as installation training, damage inspection and retreading technical support in the first round of discussions, making service capability a core weighting factor in channel selection.
Our head of Latin American market stated on site that Panama, as the logistics hub connecting North and South America, serves as a strategic foothold for deepening the regional market. This exhibition is not only a product showcase, but also an in-depth research on regional demand. After the expo, the team will follow up with prospective customers by country and category, and simultaneously advance local certification, front-warehousing and technical service system layout in key markets. Through the combined strategy of full-category products and localized services, we aim to capture the upgrade dividend of the Latin American OTR market.
August 14 marks the final day of the expo. The Booth 3019 team will continue to host in-depth negotiations and technical exchanges, welcoming visitors from all countries to explore new opportunities in the Latin American specialty tire market.
